Do you have what I call “wounded ears”?
Earlobes with stretched-out holes, uneven piercings, or openings that have become too large over time? Maybe your earlobes are simply too delicate or small to comfortably support heavier earrings.
Is there a way to fix or work around it? Absolutely.
While surgery is the most drastic option, many people prefer to avoid that route. If you're one of them, I have a few helpful ideas for you which have been linked to their sites on Amazon.
These are ear jackets I sometimes make to go with my stud earrings. I do them in both small and large sizes, in reticulated sterling silver and gold fill. You can see below how they sit on the ear—and how they help with some of those earlobe issues.
The photo above on the left shows my customer “S” and the long opening on her earlobe. She wanted to wear her lovely Moissanite studs without them sliding down. We tried the large reticulated sterling silver ear jackets to help hide the piercing—and they worked perfectly.
In the photo below, you’ll see my customer “L.” She has a deep, wide piercing, and her stud earrings actually fall through the hole. Because the piercing is both low and deep on her earlobe, she chose to try the smaller gold ear jacket with her studs—and it was a great success.
These are the ear backs we used along with the ear jackets to help hold the earrings in place. They keep studs secure and upright, instead of tipping forward and can protect the earlobe from stretching. Both “S” and “L” tried several styles, ranking their favorites from #1 to #4. Another friend, “C,” has used the Silpada sterling backs for years and swears by them—especially if you have delicate earlobes that don’t support heavier earrings well. They’re the most expensive of the bunch, but definitely worth it.
I have a few pairs of each that you’re welcome to try—just Email me.

Here’s another solution I found—this one should work with wire earrings and leverbacks. They’re small adhesive support patches that stick to the back of your earlobe. You place the patch, then insert the earring through it for an extra bit of invisible support.
These were a little tricky to use at first, but with a bit of practice, I think they could be a helpful option. View
I hope these tips make it easier—and more comfortable—for you to keep enjoying the earrings you love!
