Michigan Summer

Michigan Summer

Kris and I have escaped the Phoenix heat and are enjoying our annual summer vacation in Michigan. Our cabin sits on the peaceful shores of Black Lake in northeast Michigan, where the days are relaxing and the nights are simply beautiful. This photo captures the early morning moonset and the quiet magic of Black Lake.

While I'm here to relax and unwind, I couldn't resist bringing along my jewelry tools. I'll be spending a little time creating more inventory and attending and exhibiting at a couple of local art shows. Inspiration seems to be everywhere in northern Michigan, and I can't wait to immerse myself in nature!

On Friday, we went into town to watch the annual 4th of July parade. This is a float built by Moran Iron Works, a metal fabrication company and the largest employer in this small town.

As I have for many years, I'll be exhibiting at two art shows in northern Michigan during my stay. The first is the 40th Annual Art in the Park, held in downtown Petoskey on Saturday, July 18.

Nestled along the shores of Lake Michigan, Petoskey is one of northern Michigan's most charming towns, making it the perfect setting for this long-standing summer tradition.

Following the Petoskey show, we pack up and head to Traverse City for the Crooked Tree Art Fair on July 25. This popular event features more than 100 juried artists and will be held at the Grand Traverse Civic Center. Maps will be available to help you easily find my booth - I hope you'll stop by and say hello!

If you're able to visit me in Michigan, you'll find beautiful Pendants like the one shown above. And if you can't make it in person, you can always shop my Website from wherever you are!

Whether we meet in Michigan or online, I hope you'll take a look at these Blue Topaz earrings. They just might become your favorite summer accessory!
