Introducing: My Updated Website!

If you’ve visited my Website in the past few weeks, you may have noticed some changes underway. It’s still a work in progress - I have more photo edits to make - but I’m loving the clean, fresh, new look.

This transformation is the result of working with talented web designer Barb Smith of Barb Smith Design, LLC. I met Barb through On the Edge Gallery and reached out for her ideas and guidance on refreshing my website.

Barb likes to “push the artist forward,” helping bring out the unique feeling of their work. She was drawn to the natural aspect of my jewelry and reflected that with a lighter, brighter background and photos of lavender fields. This gives the website a feeling of openness and nature.

The creation of this newsletter was a little tricky because many of the new website photos are banners in landscape format. I usually work with square or portrait images, which lend themselves more easily to a newsletter or blog, but the banners are beautiful on the website and I’m so glad Barb went in that direction. It really changes the look, giving the site a softer, more organic feel.

The basic layout of the website has not changed  -  all the tabs are still there under the header. On the “About Jan” page, you can read a bit about me, see photos of me working, and watch a wonderful video by Darcy Borg titled "How It All Started".

On any page, if you hover over “Shop My Collections”, you’ll see a drop-down of thumbnails for the individual collections, which I think is really cool - and something I’ve always wanted!
