Amethyst

Amethyst colors can range from pale lilac to a deep almost reddish purple. Amethyst is sometimes heat treated to enhance the color. It’s mined all over the world, but Brazil is best known for its amethyst mines. A variation, only found in Bolivia, is a combination of amethyst & citrine, called ametrine. It is partly purple and partly yellow, in the same stone. Mild soapy water is the best way to clean amethyst.
